We bought a car!

Thank you thank you thank you for all of your wonderful comments and votes about our car purchase!

The results of the poll:

1st place-Honda Accord (also my top choice)

2nd place-Volkswagen Passat

Dead last with an underwhelming number of votes-Subaru Legacy

Honorable mentions-Hyundai Sonata, Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Prius, and Honda CRV.

Although the votes helped us narrow down the search, Jonathan ultimately chose the Subaru Legacy as his next mode of transportation.

It came down to which car felt the most comfortable to drive, and the Subaru was a very smooth ride (we also loved the safety rating and sizable trunk space, among other things).

We chose Indigo blue exterior and pug-colored tan interior.

Everyone who owns a Subaru is coming out of the woodwork and telling us how much they love their cars, so I’m hoping we will love it for a long time too.

It feels so good to drive a car without worrying about whether or not it will make it to our destination!  Yay reliable transportation!

Now I’m just biding my time until my car dies and it’s time for me to make the final decision on a car purchase *wrings hands menacingly*.

  1. Mads, 1. I am happy that you have lots of trunk space to hide dead bodies.
    2. I did not think that you and Jonathan were a lesbian couple, but your choice of vechicle now has me questioning that… at least it is not a hatchback.
    3. 🙂 i hope you enjoy your new car! Yea!

  2. Pretty! And trunk space is always a bonus. Love the exterior color and the ‘pug colored’ interior description is perfect. Josie will practically disappear in there. You should probably get her a hot pink sweater so you don’t forget her and end up on the nightly news. The last thing you could be accused of is being a bad doggy parent. Although there are some wackos that might hold that raincoat photo against you. But they wouldn’t know adorable if it slapped them in the face. Losers. I think I got off track. What I meant to say was CONGRATULATIONS!!! 🙂

  3. I’m going to keep on calling the interior “Pug Camo.” Because it is. 🙂

p.s. More is more where trunk space is concerned – it’s not the sort of thing you can ever expand after the fact.
